The results are not up yet but on FSU it was reported that Yuki Nishino fell on both 3Lz and 3F and has around 37 points. Musademba's in first with 53+ points, Bereswill 2nd with 51+, the third skater has about 41 points.

I wonder what happened to Yuki, her jumps are usually so solid.

Kansai University Ice Show - Daisuke & Nobunari

Daisuke Takahashi and Nobunari Oda performed their short programs in a show organized by the Kansai University. Before the show apparently there was a local juniors competition, but I don't have details, sorry. :cold:

In the show Nobunari Oda skated his new short program, "Masquerade". He used "Romance" and "Waltz" from the "Masquerade Suite" by Aram Khachaturian. He nailed 3A, 3Lz-3T and 3F! The rest of him elements: FSSp, CiSt, CSSp, SlSt, CCoSp. ...

Fumie's new SP is choreographed to the soundtrack of Fanfan, a 1992 French comedy romance. Her LP is not ready yet. Right now she is focusing on improving her jumps:

Mao receives sport prizes from The City of Nagoya and the Aichi Prefecture for her acheivements.

When asked about her immediate goals, she answered "to clean my room." I thought she gave exactly the same answer already a month ago when she won the Worlds. So funny . Perhaps she hasn't have the time with all the media appearance and commercial making on top of the recent Japan Open.

Lake Placid Summer Skating

Hi! I just came back on Sunday from a figure skating camp in Lake Placid for 2 weeks, that was a lot of fun! Each Saturday, there was a show called "Saturday night ice show" and the first week the special guest were Castile/Okolski , Jason Wong and another girl thaT i CAN't remember her name, but they were all good. I really loved the Worlds performance. Her steps and all the jumps were so gorgeous there. I also adored the classy, noble costume, the long lines of her arms in the long sleeves. She had some deep, mature expressions there, too.

I also loved the Japanese National performance. It was a very happy performance. She looked lovely in Mai dress. She also did that in her EX at the Nationals. It was great.

Imagine my surprise the morning of 23 June when, while waiting for a flight to Chicago at Pearson International airport (Toronto), I found Mao Asada strolling through the duty free. She was quite surprised to say the least when I approached her and asked for a photo; I don't think she expected to be recognized much less by a Westerner who spoke Japanese.

It says he will work with Morosov in USA this season. The article doesn't say whether he will be his main coach or assistant coach.

A long time ago I said on FSU that it would be good if Nobu worked with Morosov on his steps and CoP-smartness, so it feels funny for me to see it actually happening.

I am wondering when this year's Grand Prix Assignment will be announced, anybody knows??

I want Mao to skate at Skate Canada and TEB like last year, but she probably will go NHK. NHK is fine, but I feel too close to final as for date. Nice thing about NHK is that I might be able to go watch or even not I can watch it live on TV!

Do you have any guess or hope for Mao's assignment?

She must be really determined to make a comeback... I thought she might turn pro this season, but it looks like she's not going to give up that easily!

I don't know if returning to top form is possible... Not many skaters continue to compete at that age, especially after being bothered by injuries. ...
