i don't know how many love Flamenco here.
Because it's quite different from Ballet, in my mind Ballet is pure. but Flamenco is not, it's not pure at all, it's even little "Evil"

Flamenco this word is from Arabia word felag(farmer) and mengu(homeless)
According to this, it's easy to find that Flamenco is a dance of poor people.

many people know that flamenco is a traditional dance of Spain, yes, t is.
But technically speaking: It's a dance of Jews and Arabs, Gypsies and Spanish.
Flamenco has four parts: Song Dance Guitar and applauses. And it has 3 typies :Heavy, Medium and Light. With the development of Flamenco, there is one more type: Pop Flamenco. New performers blend many new music elements into it(Jazz, rock and Eletronic...etc).That make new Flamenco more popular, But on another hand. With the passage of time, Flamenco is no longer so traditional, that's make me very upset:(,and what's more, many drug sellers damage this unique art,so i can't find original flamenco nowadays,Sad

If you have seen performance of Flamenco,i t's not difficult for you to find that performers always frown and they always look very unhappy. Seems Flamenco can't bring them any pleasure. That's true, If you know the background of flamenco, it's easy to understand that Flamenco represents the poverty, miserable fate of Gipsy, they do not know how to release their pressure.

Love Flamenco is very personal, For me every Flamenco dancers are so prefect. Their dark hair and skin, their costumes are so attractive to me.. And oh, yes, fans play a big role in Flamenco, when female dancers use their fans to cover their faces, it really make me fascinated! I collect Spanish fans, When I am free I usually take out of them, and I like to dance with it in front of the mirror. Is that crazy? Very Happy

Among all Flamenco performance I love Carmen best, Although Ballet Carmen is more famous, I think Flamenco is more suitable to Carmen. First, Carmen is a Gypsy. And ballet can’t show under her bitchy behavior, actually her life and herself is a tragedy. I still remember when the show ended, no one left the theater and all of spectators clapped their hands for more than 5 minutes.Smile

By the way, there is an album I want to recommend to all of you:
Gypsy Soul: New Flamenco
(sorry, I don’t know how to put its cover here :p)
It’s really a nice Flamenco CD, hope you will like it-)

Every-one says you were beautiful when you were young, but I want to tell you I think you're more beautiful now than then. Rather than your face as a young.woman, I perfer your face as it is now.. Margarite Duras wrote this in her book.
But I think it’s the best sentence to describe Flamenco.
Flamenco dancers are not the most gracefully, But they are the most unfeigned.

Thanks for reading, It’s really nice to tell you what’s my interest

Thanks for the interesting post!

I haven't had many occassions to become familiar with flamenco - it's not as popular in my country yet. Certainly, there is no occassion to watch it live anywhere around me... So thank you for the YT links. cheers I really loved this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqxJMCQxb_Q
