Well, since aoi88 found it, I felt motivated enough to post the first in what I hope will be a series of biographical bits on Mao's journey and mine as a fan.

The videos are wonderful and I even learned some new things...like that Mao did so many activities as a child before deciding that skating was the right thing for her!

I wish Mao can use the music from her 2002 LP; that music was so good . Oh I wonder what her dad does for a living cause it's expensive to study abroad. But it's great Mao had a great childhood

Knowing that some people are reading it will definitely motivate me to post more! But I won't promise too much, since I definitely can get busy or lazy...

ETA I managed to fix the font and the pic (thanks roma!)! The mismatched formatting was really bothering me; it didn't feel worthy of Mao.

Yay, more posts! I truly enjoy your blog posts, Batsuchan. They are well-researched, thoughtful, structured and just an overall delight to read.

It would be great if there was some way to promote your site and make it known to a wider audience. I think your blog is a great morale booster for all the Mao fans out there, and a wonderfully detailed guide for those who are not necessarily all that familiar with Mao's skating.

Thank you so much for the updates Batsuchan. Sigh, it's so regretful that Mao was too young to compete at 2006 Olympics, where I am sure she could have won the gold or at least made that competition more exciting~~~. But now I think I know why Mao has been struggling in her pre-Olympics season, because ever since her Grand Prix win in 2005, Japan have expected her to win the gold in Vancouver. As the Olympics draws near, I think she is feeling too much pressure to fulfill this 4 year long expectations. With that said, I hope Mao doesn't let the pressure get to her at the Olympics and deliver her best performance.

Yup. It was me. Someone else also posted your blog on one of Mao's facebook groups. So it seems people are taking notice
