PostSubject: Inskate's stuff   Sun Feb 14, 2010 2:04 am

Well, I'm creating this topic mostly to motivate myself to actually MAKE some nice montage... The ones I made so far were the lazy version - just changing the music and playing with colors... Mostly because I wanted to see how a program would look like if it was skated to a different music. Sweatdrop

Mao - Polovtsian Dances - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riFcBLJxHtQ <- my favorite one, I managed to change Mao's dress to blue! Laugh
Nobunari - Carol of the Bells - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxX11bhJf-I <- I like this music Smile
(for some reason, thise 2 do not show up in the search engine for me... Sad)

And some oooold ones:
Mao - Hungarian by Bond Girls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_i8-gsVQPfQ
Mao - Paint it Black - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeufzcgHmUo
Mao - Fantasie Impromptu to Masquerade Waltz - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxIHyPST33g (This was made before Mao skater her Masquerade LP)
Nobunari - Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV1uIV536JA

You have a really great sense for what music works and what doesn't.

I remember seeing some of your older montages...but now I realize that it's you sunny

I love your work, inskate! I love the effects in the Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra with Nobunari!

Many Hearts

And how the heck did you manage to change Mao's dress into blue?! Unbelievable!

I stole the trick from Okami's "Moderato Nobile" montage... Sweatdrop I used a trial version of Adobe Premiere, it has neat filters like three-key color correction, so the colors can be changed a little Smile

I just noticed I put this thread in the wrong subforum... It should be in the skating montages one, not in photomontages... Mods..? Worship

I was wondering, how long does the Adobe trial last? Surprised

Sorry for such a late reply! I didn't notice your post Sad

The Adobe trial lasts 30 days. But if you install an earlier version first and then some newer ones (CS2, CS3 and CS4) you can use each of them for 30 days Wink
I'm thinking of buying Premiere Elements eventually Smile

BTW, I've made another short Mao montage (or rather, a music edit to one of Mao's programs):

Mao - Reflection
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rfd82VtWyVA

Before Olympics there was an interview where Mao was asked what type of instrument she sees herself as, and Mao replied "piano or violin"... Mao had a lot of gorgeous piano programs, and I thought that I would love Mao to see to pure violin music... Swoon

Sorry for such a late reply!

Both the slow and the fast part are from Vanessa Mae's "Reflection":

It's really beautiful music, I wonder why no one has skated to it yet. Some skaters used the vocal version for the exhibition (Michelle Kwan, YuNa), but I don't remember anyone using the violin version, even though I find it more appropriate for a figure skating program (because it has no vocals and has variations in the mood/tempo).

Thank you so much Smile ! Yes, I've used this music with lyrics for a show program too and I like it so much! I've heard a few people skating to this but they were no elite athletes. Thanks again!!

Hi all,

I used a trial version of Adobe Premiere, it has neat filters like three-key color correction, so the colors can be changed a little. Thanks for the information.
